Project Engineer, Civil Engineering, Roadway and Highway Division (Denver)

In the role of Project Engineer you will be working with a dynamic team on a variety of projects in the Roadway and Highway Division. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analysis and design of urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, freeways, interchanges and shared-use trails
  • Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects
  • Support Project Managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and sub-consultant consideration
  • Coordinate and work with a team of project and design engineers to successfully complete a variety of projects
  • Perform field observation work when necessary, under minimal supervision
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish
 
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 5-10 years of experience in the design of urban and rural roadways and interstate highways, freeways and interchanges
  • Experience in design of multi-million-dollar major freeway projects
  • Experience in interchange design, rural and/or urban
  • Familiarity with design build procurement and/or alternative project delivery
  • Experience with managed lane projects is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with Microstation, InRoads, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering
  • Experience with Federal Lands Highway, Colorado DOT, or other state DOT plan preparation procedures and standards
  • Hydraulics and traffic experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client’s overall project goals
 

Licenses/Registrations:
  • Colorado Professional Engineer License or ability to transfer a license from another state
  
Required education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Compensation:
  • Base salary target for this position is $75-85K or commensurate with your experience (client is open to any reasonable discussion and is primarily interested in getting a great fit for the position and company culture).
  • Excellent “Cadillac” Benefit package including full Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life plus 401K (100% match to first 4%) plus Profit Sharing plus a discretionary Bonus Plan.  Employees may also participate in a 4 ½ day 40 hour work week and even salaried employees are compensated for hours worked in excess of 40 hours.
