My client is a successful and growing Trucking and 3PL company in the Northwest.  Their revenues are approaching $100M with continued growth.  They have a complete service offering including: Intermodal Rail Services, Asset Based Trucking, Truck brokerage and 3PL warehousing & Logistics.  Within these key product offerings they also offer all related ancillary services.  They are looking for a dynamic, experienced and demonstrably successful Account Manager to take territory sales to the next level.  This position is based in the Seattle WA area.  If you are looking for a great company and a great career move for a solid and lucrative future you should look at this opportunity!  Successful sales experience in transportation is mandatory. 
 
 
Summary of Position:
 
  • To attract and maintain customers within an assigned geographic territory.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Responsible for maintaining the current customer base while seeking out new business by promoting all of the services of the company
  • Maintain close customer contact and sell services to established customers within the established territory. Introduce customers to services available and update them as new services become available.
  • Establish a realistic regular sales call plan for existing customers while making time available within the sales call plan to include potential customer appointments in the plan.
  • Call on and sell the company's services to new prospective accounts. Identify decision makers and develop a friendly professional rapport with them while promoting a reputation of honesty and service.
  • Communicate with operations, account management and accounting regarding account activity within the territory.
  • Prepare and submit a new customer profile to operations when new business is secured.
  • Develop relationships and rapport with the company's suppliers domiciled within their territory.
  • Assist management in calling on national accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Enter notes reporting on topics discussed, or any other important information regarding an active account, in the CRM database.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate lead file in the CRM database. This should include a marketing list identifying quarterly target accounts.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the CRM data by regularly auditing customer and contact information.  Edit the information as required.
  • Prepare and maintain sales and marketing plan specific to the assigned territory.
  • Prepare and maintain new business development report and sales projections by division.
  • Prepare a quarterly report identifying negative revenue customers. The report should identify the factors resulting in lost market share.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and /or Experience:
 
  • Typically requires three to five years in a responsible sales position.
  • Sales/Operations experience in a transportation company is preferred.
 
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
 
  • Extensive knowledge of the transportation industry.
  • Ability to analyze financial data.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing a sales territory.
 
Compensation:
  • Competitive Salary Plus a lucrative commission plan. Target Base salary is $65-85K (commensurate with experience)  The client is very interested in a great fit for this position and willing to discuss salary requirements for a candidate with demonstrable success in the industry.
  • Full Benefits plus a car allowance
