Maintenance Manager – Buildings & Equipment (B&E)
My client is the world’s leading manufacturer of components and systems for heavy haul railcars.
They are seeking a person qualified to take overall responsibility for managing all building and equipment maintenance at their large-scale manufacturing facility just across the river from St. Louis, MO.

Position Summary: This position reports to the Plant Operations Manager and has direct supervision of the Maintenance Scheduler, Maintenance Supervisors, and their hourly people.

Major responsibilities include:
  • Interviewing, evaluating, hiring, training, and developing skills of qualified applicants in accordance with labor agreements and safety standards.
  • Monitoring essential metrics to analyze equipment overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), preventative maintenance tasks, inspection reports concerning repairs, frequency of breakdowns, and repair costs
  • Ensure that maintenance needs of all areas are met in a timely manner with minimal downtime or disruption to production schedules
  • Managing department’s budget -- controlling inventory for the maintenance department and approving all purchases of equipment, tools, and materials necessary for repairs and maintenance
  • Developing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs to improve OEE and drive down expenses associated with repairs of equipment.  
Required Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience in industrial maintenance
  • College Degree
  • Experience with production facilities and equipment.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, electric, pipefitting, mechanics, equipment servicing, repair procedures, quality standards
  • Familiarity with safety/OSHA regulations.
  • Prior management experience
  • Some experience in budgets, scheduling, and interviewing.
  • Knowledge of various computer applications a plus (word, excel, pdf)
