My client is global freight forwarder and they have a division in their company who provides Truck Brokerage services to their customers. They are non-asset-based so they use qualified outside carriers.     
The Freight Solutions division of FedEx Custom Critical is a non-asset-based division of FedEx, meaning we do not utilize FedEx equipment and we use qualified outside carriers.  The services they provide are over the road dry van, intermodal containers, refrigerated units, flatbed, LTL, over-dimensional and other transportation options for those larger shipments. 

Job Scope:

My client has an operations team that supports the Sales Account Manager and does the operations portion job for the Sales Account Manager. This position is responsible for selling transportation brokerage services.  There is a 5-week training program that teaches how to prospect for leads, understand the modes of transportation, and how to sell our services. This training class is a big key to your success as hardly any brokerage firms use that kind of extensive broker training.

Job Duties:
  1. The Sales Account Managers find their own leads (none are provided to you),
  2. cold calling over the phone (making 75-100 calls a day as this is an inside sales position)
  3. service customer needs. 
  4. Build a portfolio of qualified customers.
  5. Act as the point of contact for the customer regarding any inquiry related to the management and movement of shipments.
  6. Problem solve, address concerns and implement solutions for customers.
  7. Contact customers to obtain the necessary information to resolve shipping discrepancies and when necessary to expedite payment.
  8. Partner with the operations team to ensure that customer needs are met through the operational execution of the loads.
  9. Adhere to all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  10. Perform other duties as required
 Job Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree or some college with relatable work experience.
· 1-2 years’ experience inside sales, related area, or an internship while in college
· Ability to multitask
· Microsoft Office experience

PAY/BENEFITS:
  • $35K pay per year 1st Yr.
